A Waste Station in Annifield Plain, County Durham, is ensuring consistently warm temperatures for its Staff whilst ensuring reduced energy bills, thanks to an air source heat pump installed by Energist Solutions.
The Morrison Busty Waste was set up by Durham County Council to provide for householders and businesses alike to deposit and recycle rubbish as part of their longer environmental vision for the district.
The Existing premises were inefficient using LPG as their primary fuel for heating. Energist approached Durham Council in partnership with Baxi Remeha with a view to installing a brand new state of the art heat pump FOC, using the Morrison Busty as a trial site. As the property is in a rural location, air source was the ideal solution whilst ensuring a reduction in running costs.
The Client said: “I wanted more control over the heating system and ultimately an efficient way of heating the nursery throughout. Our staff carry out essential frontline services and it’s important to keep them warm and provide wash facilities 365 days of the year.”
Energist Solutions specified and installed a Remeha air source heat pump with 1000 litre buffer servicing a domestic hot water cylinder and Myson I-vector fan assisted radiators to provide all the building’s heating and hot water requirements.
